Welcome to Trak and Field, your simple way to set up teams, assign athletes to meet events, track results, and review stats for your track meets.
This guide will walk you through the basic steps to get started.
1. Create Your Teams
Start by adding the teams that will compete in the meet.
Teams are the main groupings used throughout the app. In Trak and Field Trak, teams can represent schools, clubs, or organizations.
When setting up teams, make sure the team names are correct so your meet results and reports display clearly.
2. Add Your Athletes
Next, add the athletes who will compete.
Each athlete should be added under the correct team. Athlete records should include the basic details needed for meet entry and event eligibility.
Important:
Gender is stored on the athlete record, not the team.
This helps ensure athletes can be entered into the correct meet events.
3. Create a Meet
When creating a meet, enter the meet details such as:
- meet name
- date
- location if needed
Once the meet is created, you can begin assigning athletes to events for that meet.
4. Open Athlete Events
From the meet area, open Athlete Events.
This is where you assign the selected athlete to the events they will compete in during that meet.
On the Athlete Events page:
- athletes are listed on the left by team
- select an athlete to load their event list
- choose events from the dropdowns in the main section
- save the athlete’s events before moving on
Each athlete can be assigned up to 6 events on this page.
Examples:
- 100m
- 200m
- Long Jump
- Shot Put
- 4×100 Relay
- High Jump
5. Save Athlete Event Entries
After selecting the athlete’s events, click Save Athlete Events.
Repeat this process for each athlete competing in the meet.
This step is important because the saved athlete event entries drive scoring, meet reports, and result tracking later.
6. Handle Relay Participation
If an athlete is part of a relay, select the relay event in Athlete Events.
Example:
- 4×100 Relay
- 4×400 Relay
At this stage, you are only marking that the athlete is participating in that relay event.
Relay leg order is not assigned on the Athlete Events page.
Relay lineup details such as:
- which 4 athletes are running
- relay leg order
- lane and heat assignments
should be handled later on the relay scoring or relay setup side.
7. Start Scoring
Once athletes have been assigned to events, click Start Scoring.
This takes you to the main Meet Stats / Meet Action page for the meet.
This page is where you enter results for:
- timed running events
- relay events
- horizontal field events
- vertical field events
8. Enter Event Results
The Meet Stats page changes based on the type of event being scored.

This helps users quickly review:
- what has already been entered
- who has completed an event
- current leaders
- missing or incomplete results
10. Run Reports
After scoring is complete, use reports to review meet results and athlete performance.
Common reports may include:
- Full Meet Results
- Event Results
- Team Scoring
- Athlete Meet Results
- Athlete Season Results
- PR / Season Best
- Relay Results

- Vertical Jump Progression
- Heat Sheets / Flight Sheets
These reports are useful for coaches, parents, and meet review.
